I'm so glad you're here!

HEY!

I'm Courtney Wilson (formerly Barrett), a designer and typographer based in Upstate South Carolina. I’m currently finishing out a BFA in Graphic Design at the South Carolina School of the Arts at Anderson University, graduating this May.

I believe design is comfort and play—a way to piece things together, to fix, to spark joy. My work is rooted in curiosity, intentionality, and a childlike wonder that sees possibilities where others see limits. Guided by my faith, I view design as an act of service—creating with purpose, crafting impact, and making the world a little brighter, one detail at a time.

GOD IS IN THE DETAILS.

My experience spans type design, publications, layout, copywriting, branding, exhibition design, packaging, UX/UI, illustration, photography, and beyond.

A FEW THINGS I'VE LEARNED:

Never go down a slide headfirst, no matter how cool you think it will make you seem.

Design is powerful. Design for good. Design for change.

When you find a vinyl record you want, you never end up buying just one.

Use a contract. Just use a contract.

Perfectionism is like chasing a unicorn – mythical, and you'll probably end up exhausted with nothing to show for it.

Coffee makes everything more bearable.

It's a typeface, not a font. Using Comic Sans is like wearing a neon spandex suit to a black-tie event – guaranteed cringe for everyone involved, yourself included. And Papyrus? Well, let's just say it's the pineapple on the pizza of design.

Design, don't decorate.

Collecting design books quickly becomes an obsession once you see a professor's library.

There is time for work and there is time for play. Do not forget about the time for play.

Oh, and have I mentioned that duct tape can fix anything?

Let’s create something great together.

Curious about something?

Have an idea to bring to life?

I don’t bite, I promise.
